Introduction & First Blog
Well, this is my first blog. I suppose I should introduce myself!
My name is Anthony Rosborough and I'm from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I've grown up here with my two brother and single mother--I'm currently a prospective Architecture student at Dalhousie University. I'll dive into my "political history" a little bit in the following paragraph(s):
In high school, I was selected by the United Nations Association of Canada as one of four Canadian youth to attend The Hague International Model United Nations in The Netherlands. After my experience there, I began to work with The United Nations Association of Canada in preparing their yearly Canadian Model United Nations Conference in Ottawa. Because of this experience, I've spent nearly every spring break since 2005 in Ottawa talking about new ideas for Canada in the world with some of the nation's most politically energetic youth.
My interests from these experiences pushed me to enroll into Philosophy and Political Science at Dalhousie University/University of King's College, which I worked at for two years; reading books and writing lengthy essays on the nature of expression and logic, and sometimes even what is "right". It was an invaluable introduction to academic life, but after coming to terms with my family tradition of boat building and innovation, I decided to pursue Environmental Design and Architecture, which occupy my current academic life.
For most of my life, I've thought that subscribing to large organizations is often not only a fault of reason and a sort of... fooling of the self, but a very dangerous thing to vocalize. Often when people feel strongly of their belonging, it can create more divisive energy than collective. With that said, I've found myself to be fairly cautious in saying that I've favoured the Liberal Party for most of my childhood and adolescence. However, As the environment became more and more of a pushing issue for all of us, I began to take great interest in Green Technologies and methods of increasing efficiency and producing sustainable products and sources of energy. Needless to say, this interest in tandem with my politically charged mindset prompted me to become an official member of the Green Party of Canada.
Here on this blog, I'll be posting not only my rambling thoughts of the current state of world affairs, but also some useful and innovative ways of increasing home energy efficiency through the winter months.
Thanks for reading up, and be sure to check back.

Nice to meet you!
Hi, I am also a new member of less than a week. I am amazed at the diversity of people in the party and I look forward to reading your views on different issues. I just finished listening to the American news on CNN and it seems like Obama may be the first US leader to get serious about environmental issues and climate change so it is an exciting time to be a Green. Many of the things I am hearing he will do could have come wholesale out of the Vision Green platform. Maybe we will meet at the annual meeting. It is in Nova Scotia this year.
