Our white collar crime thoughts?

Re Our *press release*

I could not find policy to reflect parts of this and understand it is now going to be our  policy....but

What  do you other members think?

We used to have debtors prisons.....and in some cases I have dealt with ....I think we should have them again.

I more than most of you know all about jail and the impact of it  because I was actually sentenced there myself.

There is a huge difference though... between weak/strong ? esteem causing "so called" drug abuse thereby  resulting in no real victim....and life changing jail !......to the predatory ....pre meditated .....and in some form to me any way .....the raping..... of external victims....there is a huge difference!

Some of those I have seen with out a doubt deserved and never ever got  jail!

It does not take a forensic team nor lawyers in very many cases either !

Malicious fraudulent cheque schemes etc for example are no different than some one using a gun at your back.

I am sorry but OK ....I guess I am at least the green party guy who will easily pull the switch on those many assorted confessed killers ...the beyond a shadow of a doubt types ......no sleep will ever be lost trust me.....as we deserve to not suffer their presence any further or have them ever among us again...what for?

and my god obviously agrees....or  would have... by now ...obviously done something with those types of individuals herself .....LOL

If we as a society are not going to sheperd our own species or  flocks as we all individually grasp in greed for bigger ...better and more of it ....well... it has to be done ..sorry kids

If I said a bomb was sitting in a cell and it may get back out again anytime .....we may agree more I think

I would be this way just so as to remove our own  further risks of  problems...

I was in the military and any meat eaters certainly should not criticize my view I would say.

We could say it was then by what ?green management...yes

If we don't do it look after ourselves as a species we obviously must also then be our own weeders .....when things are over run by our open wilful neglect of our fellow man ...in my view.

and by the way my god  also never ever runs out of cash then needing TV people.

Its ok for mulruny to pocket $300 grand ...not declare it for 5 years then have another lawyer tell him he does not even have to pay tax on it?

The bromfmens could take $6 billion out of the country and forgo all tax... all of us would have to  pay?

These to me are also white collar crimes...

it is malicious manipulation of rules and privilege

and starts out always over greed it seems.

The premeditated and obvious thefts or schemes?..the many white collar crimes I have seen....yes.. jail is a sad necessity.

Why not?

800,000 cannabis users are paying for the rest of their lives  ..RIGHT NOW !

with criminal records...and they hurt no one or only themselves

Sorry those  that actually ...yes....  hurt people in any way ...at least deserve that !

What are your thoughts here ........politico's?

Re: White collar crime

I don't have the information to answer completely, as I'd need to be up to speed on: (a) what the laws are now; (b) how effective those laws are; and (c) whether there is a demonstrated need for legal reforms or additional resources for prosecuting white collar crime. Also, we have to be clear on what we are discussing. Financial crime is one thing, tax reform to close "loopholes" and rules that only the very rich can take advantage of is another.

In my view, it is much more important to bring in monetary reforms (the way our monetary system works looks to me like government-sanctioned white collar crime). Why not increase the bank reserve requirement to 100%? Zero percent is perhaps a little too low don't you think? Why do we permit private banks to create money "out of nothing" and lend it out with compound interest? What's the name of that Dire Straits song?

White collar crime covers a

White collar crime covers a very broad range of activities.  A lot of white collar crime within the financial system can be eliminated by removing the opportunity (by offering options that remove contact with criminals) and improving the regulatory structure to prohibit crime at an early stage.

Other economic criminal activities require more jail time.  Unlike many other types of criminals, many white collar criminals would not have started their behaviour if they thought they would go to jail.  The only way for it to be a deterrent is if people see others going to jail for doing the same.  As soon as one person gets off with a light sentence, it becomes open season.

If you could make a million dollars and all you'd have to do is sit in a prison for a year before you could go collect it from under your oak tree, many would feel that's an easy trade.

White collar crime is not caused by fractional reserve banking, and fractional reserve banking, as I have previously explained cannot be used to characterize banks making money out of thin air.

Fractional-reserve banking

Here's Herman Daly, former World Bank economist:

I would not advocate a return to commodity money, but would certainly advocate 100% reserve requirements for banks (approached gradually), as well as an end to the practice of buying stocks on the margin. All banks should be financial intermediaries that lend depositors’ money, not engines for creating money out of nothing and lending it at interest.

The entire article is worth reading. We have to get this right, because this monetary system is fueling our unsustainable "growth" and consumption:The Crisis: Debt and Real Wealth by Herman E. Daly.

More from Herman Daly:A Steady-State Economy

One hundred percent reserves would put our money supply back under the control of the government rather than the private banking sector. Money would be a true public utility, rather than the by-product of commercial lending and borrowing in pursuit of growth. Under the existing fractional reserve system, the money supply expands during a boom and contracts during a slump, reinforcing the cyclical tendency of the economy. The profit (seigniorage) from creating (at negligible cost) and being the first to spend new money – and receive its full exchange value – would accrue to the public rather than the private sector. The reserve requirement, something the Central Bank manipulates anyway, could be raised from current very low levels gradually to 100 percent. Commercial banks would make their income by financial intermediation (lending savers’ money for them) as well as by service charges on checking accounts rather than by lending at interest money they create out of nothing. Lending only money that has actually been saved by someone re-establishes the classical balance between abstinence and investment. This extra discipline in lending and borrowing likely would prevent such debacles as the current “sub-prime mortgage” crisis. One hundred percent reserves would both stabilize the economy and slow down the Ponzi-like credit leveraging.

I'm certainly not going to

I'm certainly not going to volunteer for his experiment.

Slap on the wrist

Just like our press release sadly...thats really all they get.

Police say..."Its a civil Matter... sue them"

No difference than a gun in your back ...yet no police involved because they gave a promise to pay(cheque)

Imagine a house robber who gets off because he left a worthless cheque.

Telemarketers robbing the ignorant(actually just incredibly greedy)elderly for example.

Using the olds greed to suck money out of them..."You won the lottery you never entered and now we need $9,000 dollars to process your winnings" ...LOL those ones just crack me up as I know most are just too ashamed to admit the loss.

I would get into the fractional banking thing but I already said it is a joke and full of misinformation as it could change over night if anyone gave it 2 seconds.

The sheeple will be told its some attack on our sovereignty and just go back asleep rather than stop charging themselves interest for unneeded banks profits.

Bram  is like a prohibitionist ...scaring those trying to understand the stupidity of it and quite frankly none of you will do anything to change things because of these types of flat arguments as it takes a complete change but not a fatal one in reality.

I started this to point out my disagreement with our press release....seems others do not see my point..with this either.
