Eight months after being elected as the country’s first Green party MP, Elizabeth May was back on the Salt Spring Island on Monday as part of a riding-wide tour with Saanich-Gulf Islands constituents.
After a full day of drop-in sessions at Salt Spring Community Services, May devoted the evening to questions from many of the approximately 75 people gathered at Gulf Islands Secondary School on topics as varied as climate change, corporate power, smart meters, assisted suicide, media convergence, the Northern Gateway pipeline, human rights, refugee law, political decorum and civic responsibility.
